The Board and membership continue to have discussions on the impact of rentals within the Association. For your information, we have become aware of an ordinance being discussed by the Benona Township Board. A copy of a draft of the ordinance was obtained by the board and is being shared with you for your information. It is important to understand that this is being discussed by the township and the final version of any ordinance related to short term rental regulations adopted by the township could be quite different from the draft attached. Presently the proposed ordinance is being discussed during meetings of the Planning Commission, which meets the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM. Letters concerning the draft can be addressed to the attention of the Planning Commission, and sent to 7169 W. Baker Rd., Shelby, MI 49455.
Lastly, any ordinance adopted by Benona Township should have no effect on the original Cobmoosa Shores deed restrictions to which all property owners within Cobmoosa Shores are bound. At this time the Board has not taken an official position on the proposed ordinance.
