The Tree Committee of the Cobmoosa Shores Association has organized an informational meeting to help us learn more about HWA (e.g. how to identify trees infected with HWA) and what can be done (e.g. treatment options for HWA infected trees, prophylactic treatment options for uninfected Hemlocks). The experts invited to conduct this meeting are Drew Raynor (West Michigan HWA Coordinator, Michigan Department of Natural Resources) and Keely Dunham-Adkins (West Michigan CISMA Coordinator, Ottawa Conservation District).
This meeting is open to all members of the CSA. While the Tree Committee is still evaluating the best location for this meeting to allow for the greatest number to attend, I wanted you to “save the date” now. I will send a followup eNewsletter with the location.
Immediately following the informational meeting, Drew and Keely will lead a walk through Cobmoosa to help you identify what HWA looks like. As pointed out in an earlier eNewsletter, you may wish to visit this website to learn more.
